We recommend bringing a picnic and renting a canoe there. There are spots along the Dordogne where you can dock to enjoy your picnic and swim in the river. Admire all the historic castles from the valley floor as you canoe down the river. We recommend the 3-hour option if you are not used to canoeing or the heat. Be aware that it can get very crowded in high season, so arrive early!

The climb is a bit steep, so not recommended for sensitive people, especially in hot weather, but it's worth it if you like history. Arrive early, before the crowds and the heat, to make the most of it.
Limeuil
